Risek is primarily indicated in GERD (chronic stomach disorder that involves reflux of stomach acid and contents back into the esophagus that causes irritation of the esophageal lining), intestinal and benign stomach ulcers, zollinger ellison syndrome (benign tumors of pancreas or small intestine). It is also used to prevent acid reflux during general anesthesia.

Directions For Use

Swallow the capsule as whole with a glass of water at least one hour before your meal.

Safety Information/Precautions

• Risek should be used with caution in patients with renal impairment, and liver disease.
• This medication should only be used during pregnancy when it is clearly indicated. Best avoided in lactating mothers.
• Any stomach related malignancy should be excluded before starting the treatment.
• Serum B12 should be monitored regularly in severely ill children receiving this medication.
• Omeprazole should not be taken by patients who are allergic to it.
• Patients using risek may at times experience headache, upset stomach, skin rashes, abnormal sensations, dizziness, inability to sleep, pain in joints, increased risk of stomach infections, muscle pain, and desire to sleep for long periods of time.
